Common Questions

Why is it only $135?

It is our introductory price. We recently added ACLS to our Pasadena training site and are running an introductory rate while we fill our first classes. Regular price is $250. Same full AHA course, same official card, seats at this price are limited.

Is BLS included or required?

BLS skills are tested during ACLS. You must have a current BLS certification or be proficient in BLS. We also run BLS classes at $89, and you can add BLS to the ACLS and PALS bundle for $45.

Can I add PALS?

Yes. At checkout you can choose the ACLS and PALS bundle for $250. Both cards are issued the same day and expire on the same date, so you renew together instead of separately. You can also add BLS for $45, normally $89. Adding courses extends class time by about 1 to 2 hours.

Do I need to take the pre-course self-assessment?

Yes, the AHA requires all students to complete the Pre-Course Self-Assessment and bring the certificate (score 70% or higher) to class. We email you the link after you book.

How long is the class?

About 4 hours. Classes run Sundays and Tuesdays from 4:00 PM to about 8:00 PM, and you leave the same day with your official AHA eCard. Renewals are shorter. If you add the PALS bundle, plan for an extra 1 to 2 hours.

What if I fail the written exam?

The AHA allows for remediation. If you do not pass, the instructor will review the material with you and you can re-take a different version of the exam.

Is this course for initial or renewal?

The initial course is $135 and renewal is $125. The initial course is longer. Renewal requires a current, non-expired ACLS card.

Are books included?

E-books or physical books are usually purchased separately or as an add-on during checkout, depending on current AHA guidelines.
